Standalone IV Procaine
A focused standalone Procaine infusion administered intravenously as part of an individualized wellness plan.
Procaine is one of my favorite therapies to incorporate into an integrative IV plan. Best known as a local anesthetic, Procaine has a long history of medical use and affects nerve membranes and nerve-impulse transmission.
At Hygeia, Procaine may be administered as a standalone IV or incorporated into a more comprehensive IV cocktail. I may also use Procaine in certain targeted applications, including scar injections and as a component of ozone joint therapy.

Procaine is the generic name for Novocain, first synthesized in 1905: a safe, nontoxic local anesthetic whose therapeutic value extends far beyond anesthesia.
Chemically it is an alcohol ester of p-amino benzoic acid, broken down by plasma cholinesterase, an enzyme found in all body tissues. It is metabolized so thoroughly that only a small part needs to be detoxified by the liver and roughly 2% is eliminated through the kidneys.
Procaine breaks down into two compounds, both with antihistamine effects: p-amino benzoic acid (PABA), part of the vitamin B complex and an active agent against pathological sclerosing and hardening of tissue, and diethyl-amino-ethanol, a vasodilator that can improve blood flow, lower blood pressure, and mildly stimulate the central nervous system.
At Hygeia, my primary focus is IV administration. Procaine may be given as a standalone infusion or incorporated into a more comprehensive IV protocol based on the individual client and overall wellness plan.
The autonomic nervous system helps regulate many functions that happen automatically throughout the body, including heart rate, circulation, digestion and other physiologic processes.
Procaine has established effects on nerve membranes and nerve-impulse transmission. At Hygeia, IV Procaine may be incorporated into an individualized integrative wellness plan when nervous-system support is one of the areas we are exploring.
Your health history, goals, medications and overall wellness plan help determine whether Procaine is appropriate for you and how it may best be incorporated into your plan.
Unlike many nutrient IVs that you may not feel while they're running, some clients notice Procaine during the infusion. The sensation is often described as temporarily light, relaxed, floaty or altered.
When experienced, the sensation is generally brief and fades as the medication is metabolized. Individual experiences vary, and clients are monitored throughout the infusion.
