What Is Plaquex® IV?
Phosphatidylcholine (PC) is a phospholipid that plays an important structural role in cell membranes throughout the body. Plaquex® is a specialized formulation containing polyenylphosphatidylcholine (PPC).
Plaquex® is administered intravenously, allowing the formulation to enter the circulation directly rather than passing through the digestive system.
At Hygeia, I use Plaquex® as one of several advanced IV therapies that may be incorporated into a personalized wellness plan. Whether it makes sense for you depends on your health history, goals, clinical screening and the bigger picture of what we are working toward.
Plaquex® + PolyMVA. Poly-MVA supports cellular energy and redox processes, while Plaquex® provides phospholipids used in cellular membrane structure and support. They may be incorporated together as part of an individualized wellness or IV protocol.

01 What is Plaquex® IV?

02 Is Plaquex® the same as phosphatidylcholine?
Phosphatidylcholine (PC) is the broader phospholipid. Plaquex® is a specific formulation containing polyenylphosphatidylcholine (PPC). When Hygeia refers to Plaquex® IV, we are referring specifically to the Plaquex® formulation used in our clinic.
03 How long does a Plaquex® IV take?
Plan for approximately 90–120 minutes. Plaquex® is intentionally infused slowly, and treatment time may vary depending on your individualized protocol and how you tolerate the infusion.
04 How many treatments will I need?
There is no one-size-fits-all number of treatments. Some clients may incorporate Plaquex® into a series, while others may use it as part of a broader personalized wellness plan. Your schedule will depend on your health history, goals, response and overall plan. Holly will help determine an appropriate approach for you.
05 Can Plaquex® be used with other Hygeia therapies?
Plaquex® may be incorporated alongside other Hygeia therapies when appropriate, but certain therapies need to be administered separately rather than mixed together. Holly will determine the appropriate timing and sequencing based on your individual plan.
06 Are there possible side effects?
As with any IV therapy, individual reactions are possible. Reported reactions associated with Plaquex® administration include fatigue, gastrointestinal symptoms and irritation or inflammation at the infusion site. Plaquex® is administered slowly, and appropriate screening, infusion protocols and monitoring are used to support safe administration.
07 Do I need to tell Holly about my medications and supplements?
Yes. Please provide a complete list of your medications, supplements and relevant medical history before beginning treatment. Certain medications and individual health factors may affect your treatment plan. Do not stop or change prescription medications unless instructed by the healthcare professional who manages that medication.
08 Is Plaquex® included in the Hygeia IV Membership?
Yes. Plaquex® IV is one of the eligible monthly IV choices included in the Hygeia IV Membership. Membership is $250/month and includes one eligible IV therapy each month. New members may begin with a $150 first month with a 3-month initial commitment, followed by $250/month beginning month two.
